Little Notes / Quran 94:5

Allow me to be dramatic for a minute.

Everyday the world seems to feel less bright, with a new version of old horrors. It’s Ukraine, it’s Afghanistan, it’s Yemen, it’s the Uyghur Muslims, it’s Somalia, it’s a pandemic, it’s homelessness, it’s rising prices, it’s poverty, it’s greedy corporations, it’s corrupt governments. On and on and on. It feels so relentless sometimes.

The urge to crawl into my bed and just never resurface again is strong, but when Allah (swt) said life is a test, He (swt) meant a test. AND even though the heavy feelings are there, this ayah is a proper source of light in all this bleakness for me:

‘Verily with every hardship comes ease’ – Quran 94:5

It’s very heartening isn’t it?

What ayah/mantras/quotes keep you going when you’re down?

That’s all for now!
